How to Rank a New Blog Website Post on Google

Many factors go into ranking your website on google’s top page: The process of optimizing and ranking your website on google is Search Engine Optimization (SEO). We will list the SEO steps you need to take to rank your new blog website on google.

1. On-page SEO

On-page SEO (also known as on-site SEO) refers to everything you can do on a page to boost its ranking. Its primary goal is to assist Google and searchers in better understanding and digesting your information. From the title of your blog post to the H1 tags, images, keyword usage, and more.

How to do on-page SEO

Post Title

The title or H1 tags assist Google bots in understanding what your page is about, the content, and the intent. It is recommended to use one H1 for your blog post, which is just your title. The rest can be h2, h3, or h4.

Write an appealing blog title.

Your blog titles are what searchers will first see to determine which result to click on. As a result, they must be appealing.

Below are some pointers:

  • Keep them brief. The blog title on search engine results only shows 70 characters, so optimize it for less than 70 characters. If your blog title is more than 70 characters, google will add Ellipsis points.
  • Search intent. Inform searchers what your blog post is about right from the title. This will help satisfy search intent.
  • Use descriptive language. Don’t be ambiguous or generic.
  • Do not use clickbait. Make sure that your title is relevant to your content.
Add custom meta description.

You should specifically create a meta description for your blog post. 160 is the maximum recommended characters for your meta description because this is what is visible on google (SEPR)

Use Focus Keyphrase

The focus keyphrase is the keyword you want your page to be found on the Search engine result page. It can sometimes be a single phase, but it is often a set of words.

Optimize your images

Optimizing your image has the potential of ranking your website on Google search image results, which can lead to traffic to your website.

Internal linking & External linking

Make sure that on your blog post, you link to relevant information that relates to the topic you are writing on. This will help Google understand what your content is about.

2. Find Low Difficulty Keywords

A keyword is a term that best describes the articles on your blog post. It is the search keyword for which you wish to rank for. The goal of the keyword is that people searching for that keyword or phrase in Google or other search engines should be sent to your blog post. They’re some specific keywords that are hard to rank for a blog site. For example, a new website might find it challenging to rank for the keyword “Digital Marketing,” but if we narrow it down to “digital marketing courses to start as a beginner,” it might be easier for a new website to rank for it.

How to find low-difficulty keywords?

To know if a keyword is difficult, you can use Ubersuggest. They are other tools, but I recommend you use Ubbersuggest or Moz SEO. They are paid tools, but you can start with the free trial.

  • Go to Ubersuggest or Moz
  • Enter your Keyword
  • Select your language
  • Enter your location
  • Click search

After the search, you will see the following results:

  • Search volume: This is the number of people searching for this keyword on search engine during a month
  • SEO Difficulty: This means the competition in organic search and how difficult it is to rank for a keyword. If many people are trying to rank for that keyword, or websites with high domain authority are already ranking for it on search engine results, you might find it challenging to rank for it.
  • Paid Difficulty: This estimates the difficulty of ranking for the keyword in paid search if you’re running paid ads or google search ads.

3. Increase your Website Domain Authority

Domain Authority is one of the ranking factors google use to rank websites on the search results page. The higher your domain authority, the easier it will be for you to rank for a keyword after completing all your on-page search engine optimization strategies.

What is Domain Authority?

Domain Authority (DA) is a developed search engine ranking score that estimates if a website will be able to rank in search engine result pages (SERPs). DA is rated from one to 100. A higher Domain Authority score indicates a better chance of ranking. When you launch a new website, your domain authority starts at one. Increasing your domain authority would take a lot of time and effort.

How to Increase Domain Authority?

As you may have seen, backlinks play a significant part in determining domain authority. Backlinks are also one of the two most essential ranking factors. It’s crucial to note that DA can assist you in predicting how well your website will rank in search results. As a result, it is advisable to utilize it to compare your website to other websites in SERPs and then aim to boost your DA to rank higher.

Domain authority is like a referral. When a website links to you, they tell google Bots that your website content is of good quality. But the quality of the website linking to you is essential. If a website with higher domain authority link to you, this could potentially increase your domain authority than a low-quality website with low backlinks.

Create high-quality content

Creating high-quality content will not just be appreciated; your readers will start to share it with people, and publishers will link back to your site, so your content must be link-worthy. You start creating high-quality content, including articles, extensive tutorials, video tutorials, infographics, podcasts, and more. However, looking at your site’s most popular pages is an excellent place to start.

Write guest posts

Blog writers are constantly looking for new content. They even pay freelance writers to write for them, most websites are open for guest posting, and if you write great content for them, you will not only enhance your brand expertise but also frequently gain a backlink to your website.

How Do You Check Domain Authority?

  • Install the Moz SEO chrome extension
  • Open your website
  • Click on your chrome extensions. You should see the Moz SEO toolbar at the top of your website showing your Page Authority (PA) and Domain Authority (DA).

Conclusion

With these tips, you are ready to start creating a blog post that has the potential to rank in search engine results. Make sure to submit your website XML file to the google search engine and every blog post you create for indexing. It would be best if you understood that it takes time to start seeing results for every SEO strategy you apply, so keep pushing.
