A young woman named Valerie Usigbe, who is currently participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), recently did something heartwarming. She recreated a photograph of her mother that was taken when her mother was also in the NYSC program, but that was 32 years ago.
Valerie shared her side-by-side recreation on Twitter with the caption “Mum Vs Me 32 years later.” In her post, she displayed the old photo of her mother from the past, during her own NYSC days, and placed it next to a new photo of herself in the same NYSC uniform.
This act of recreating the photo is a touching way for Valerie to pay tribute to her mother’s past experiences and to celebrate her own journey as a participant in the NYSC program, just like her mother was all those years ago. It’s a lovely reminder of the passage of time and the connections between generations.
