Threads has release two new features that Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has revealed for the platform one of this new feature is the ability for users to to delete their Threads profile without affecting their Instagram account.
As of July 2023 when Threads was launch most users complain for their inability to delete their treads account without it affecting their Instagram profile, the only option available then was to deactivate their profile.
In a Threads post, Mosseri announced two updates based on user feedback. The first allows users to delete a Threads profile without deleting the connected Instagram account, addressing a longstanding request. Previously, deactivating the Threads profile only offered a temporary solution, as it was linked to the respective Instagram account.
Threads is introducing a second update, giving users more control over who sees their posts across Meta’s social platforms. Currently, Threads posts appear on Instagram and Facebook feeds to boost engagement.
In response to privacy concerns raised by users, the update allows users to opt out of featuring their Threads posts on platforms beyond Threads, accessible in the Privacy section of the Settings menu.
Despite this recent change of allowing users to delete their thread account, without affecting their Instagram account, these two platform are still linked together.
